THE MNODE FIELD GUIDE / 01

Why evolve and root your Mnode?

Rooting turns one of your OG Mnodes into a one-of-a-kind Evolved Mnode with new, verifiable traits. The first rooted Mnodes have already drawn fresh trading attention on OpenSea, and some came out with better ranks. Here is exactly what changes, what stays fixed, and how to make the most of it.

THE CASE FOR ROOTING

Why holders merge and root.

Evolving is free and takes nothing from your wallet. Rooting is a free wallet signature. What you gain is real, and it is already visible in the collection:

Your token becomes one of a kind, twice over.

A rooted OG keeps its number, but it now carries Evolved artwork inspired by Mnodes you own, with a recorded lineage nobody else can copy. No two rooted forms tell the same story.

New traits can lift your ranks.

Rooting adds verifiable traits: Type Evolved, Lineage Size, and the parent caps, colours and auras it was inspired by. When one of those values is scarce across the 4,444, it raises the rarity score. Our live ranking recounts instantly, and OpenSea recalculates after its metadata refresh. Several of the first rooted Mnodes did move up.

Trading attention has followed the rootings.

On OpenSea, the first rooted Mnodes have drawn new trading activity, and in some cases higher ranks once their metadata refreshed. A unique Evolved form with public lineage stands out in a collection of 4,444. We do not promise a price or a rank, but visibility is part of what rooting brings.

The supply of rooted forms is intentionally small.

Rooted Evolved Mnodes are capped at 888 in total. Once an OG is rooted, that form is set. Early holders claim the earliest positions in the collection's evolution, and the remaining spaces only shrink.

Merge more of your Mnodes, too. Choosing 2 to 12 parents shapes the artwork and records Lineage Size plus every parent's cap, colour and aura. More parents do not raise the score by themselves, but they record a bigger lineage and a richer creation, and that recorded story is what shows in token history and on OpenSea.

What changes when you evolve and root?

Will my original rarity increase?

No. Your Mnode's original rank is based on the artwork and traits it had at mint. It never changes, whether you evolve and root your Mnode or root one.

Will my live rank improve?

Creating Evolved artwork does not change a token. Rooting replaces one owned OG's current image and metadata with the Evolved form and adds its lineage traits. Our live ranking then compares those new traits with all 4,444 tokens. Rooted forms carry unique lineage values, so they have a real chance to climb. A better rank is possible, never guaranteed.

What about OpenSea?

OpenSea reads the current token metadata and calculates its own rarity rank. After rooting and a metadata refresh, the rank can move, and the first rootings have shown it: some rooted Mnodes came out with better ranks, and their listings drew new trades. OpenSea controls the calculation and timing, so we cannot promise a particular position.

Should I use more parent Mnodes?

You can choose 2 to 12 owned Mnodes to inspire the Evolved artwork. Their number is recorded as Lineage Size when you root it, alongside the specific parents and their cap, colour and aura lineage. More parents change that trait value and the artwork's inputs, but do not automatically raise either live rank. Rarity depends on how common each value is across the collection. What more parents do give you is a richer creation and a bigger recorded lineage, which is exactly the story that makes a rooted token stand out. Choose the combination you actually want to preserve.

The practical path: choose 2 to 12 Mnodes you own to inspire an Evolved image. Those parent NFTs stay unchanged. If you want one of your NFTs to display the new art, choose an OG Mnode that is not rooted yet and sign to root it. Evolving costs nothing. Rooting is a free signature, it is permanent here, and it is the step that unlocks the new traits and the collection's Evolved history. Neither parent count nor the OG's original rank guarantees a specific live or OpenSea position.

THE SHORT VERSION

Three views. Three different questions.

01 / MYCELIUM

Original rarity

How rare was this Mnode's original design? Based on its mint-era traits across all 4,444. It stays fixed even if the token is rooted later.

02 / MYCELIUM

Live, after evolution

How rare are the traits each token carries now? Our site recounts all 4,444 using current OG or rooted Evolved metadata. This view can change after a rooting.

03 / EXTERNAL

OpenSea rank

OpenSea's own rarity number, displayed separately. OpenSea controls its scoring and refresh timing. It is not our live score and the numbers do not have to match.

A rank is a position, not a promise. A smaller rank number means a higher position in that particular list. Rank #1 in one view need not mean rank #1 in another.

HOW OUR NUMBERS WORK

Scarce traits carry more weight.

For each trait on a Mnode, we count how many of the 4,444 share that exact trait value. Fewer matches mean a larger contribution to its rarity score. We add those contributions, then order tokens by score. The original view uses the original collection traits. The live view uses the traits each token carries today, including its Type and, where rooted, its recorded lineage traits.

BEFORE ROOTING

An OG keeps its place

Creating Evolved artwork creates artwork in the Grove, not a new NFT. The OG token's image, metadata and rank are not changed by evolving alone.

AFTER ROOTING

One token, a new form

The chosen OG token keeps its number, but now displays Evolved artwork and metadata. Its original rarity rank stays as a historical measure. Our live rank is recounted from its new traits, and other live positions may move too.

OpenSea reads collection metadata independently and may take time to update after rooting. Its rarity method can differ from ours, so a live Mycelium rank is not a prediction of an OpenSea rank. If OpenSea has not updated yet, compare the token's current metadata and try again later.

A REAL MNODE, TWO FORMS

Follow Mnode #557.

Mnode #557 was rooted with an Evolved Mnode. Its history preserves the original form alongside the rooted one. Its token number never changed.

The original rank still describes the art on the left. The live Mycelium and OpenSea ranks refer to the token on the right, each calculated in its own way. Rooting is recorded by this site from a signed message, not as a separate on-chain rooting transaction.

CAN I IMPROVE MY RANK?

What you can change, and what you cannot.

Original rarity cannot be raised.

Those traits were set at mint. Evolving or rooting does not rewrite the original rarity score. To start with a different original rank, you would need a different OG Mnode.

Rooting can change live ranks.

A rooted token gains new, verifiable metadata traits. These may be scarce and can change its live Mycelium position. OpenSea may also recalculate its rank after refreshing metadata. Neither outcome nor a particular rank is guaranteed, and future rootings can change the comparison again.

No one can promise a specific number, so root the Evolved Mnode and OG whose new story matters to you. That story is real either way: a one-of-a-kind form, verifiable lineage, a capped supply of rooted forms, and the fresh attention the first rootings have already brought on OpenSea. Rankings are comparisons, not a measure of artistic quality or a guarantee of value.

THE HOLDER'S PATH

Evolve, then root your Mnode.

Evolving lets you make artwork inspired by Mnodes you own without changing them. Continue by rooting: it gives an OG Mnode the new appearance, records its lineage traits, and enters your wallet in the weekly Rooting Raffle. No minting or burning, just a free signature to root.

  1. 01 / CONNECT

    Bring your Mnodes

Connect the wallet holding your Mnodes on Robinhood Chain. Select 2 to 12 Mnodes you own. Your originals remain in your wallet.

  2. 02 / EVOLVE

    Create Evolved artwork

Create your Evolved artwork in the Grove. You can create up to three per wallet each week. It joins the community gallery, but it is not a new NFT. Evolving alone does not enter the Rooting Raffle.

  3. 03 / ROOT

    Give it a token home

Choose one unrooted Evolved Mnode you created and one OG Mnode you own. Read the permanent-change notice, then sign a free wallet message. The token keeps its number; its main image and metadata change. Its OG form stays in token history.

Rooting has a collection-wide cap of 888 rooted Mnodes and a per-wallet limit. The Grove shows the current spaces and your remaining allowance before you sign. One creation cannot be rooted twice, and the change cannot be undone here.
