Signal Weaver
Signal Braid
Carries a new voice through the rootways. A Weaver turns a scattered signal into one clear thread the network can choose to carry.
The 2,222 Mkin are the roaming life of the Mycelium. They cross its rootways, explore beyond its borders and guide new life toward the network. Where they travel, the forest finds new ways to grow.
Walk with themThe Mnodes had formed a powerful living network, but its roots could only meet what reached the forest. Beyond them were voices, ideas and whole clearings of life that the Mycelium could not yet touch. So the network shaped companions from filament, spore, shadow and living light.
These were the Mkin. They could roam where roots could not, meet what lived beyond the known paths, and invite it inward. Each awoke with a calling and a colour of light along its cap. Two thousand two hundred twenty two rose from the soil. No more are coming.
“Where the roots cannot reach, the kindred will walk.”

The Mnodes form the living network. The Mkin help that network meet the world.
They discover new life, welcome it, and carry its signal through the forest. They do not own the roots or share the Mnode treasury. Their importance lies elsewhere: without their movement, fewer paths would open, fewer bonds would form, and the Mycelium would slowly stop growing.
Every Mkin is born into one calling, and each calling carries its own power. A calling is not a rank: the one who speaks for a launch and the one who clears away the dead do different work for the same body, and the body fails without either.

Signal Braid
Carries a new voice through the rootways. A Weaver turns a scattered signal into one clear thread the network can choose to carry.

Path Sense
Roams beyond familiar ground and discovers new life, new paths and new people who may one day belong in the network.

Veil Sight
Moves quietly between distant clearings, connecting worlds that would otherwise remain strangers to one another.

Root Mend
Guides each new arrival toward the roots and watches whether what was promised to the shared ground truly returns.

Bloom Guard
Protects new growth through its first fragile days, gathering the attention and care it needs to take hold.

Echo Recall
Records the paths that opened and the paths that failed, so the kindred can carry hard-won memory forward.

Pattern Decay
Returns dead ends and empty promises to the soil, leaving room for honest growth to begin again.

Ember Hold
Keeps warmth alive after the first bright moment passes, tending new bonds until they can endure on their own.

Calling is a kind of work. Depth is rarity, earned by the traits a keeper was actually born with: the rarer its form, the higher it stands on the ladder. Every Mkin carries its exact Rarity Rank, from 1, the rarest of the 2,222, down to the last.

First Bloom
The nine rarest Mkin in existence. The whole forest knows when one stirs.

Primordial
Shaped from the oldest living ground, one step from the first memory.

Mythic
Keepers whose paths have already entered the oral tradition of the realm.

Epic
Deeply rooted Mkin whose reach spans whole territories of the network.

Rare
Strongly connected keepers whose signal can guide others through the dark.

Uncommon
Seasoned Mkin carrying memory across many cycles of the Chainstream.

Common
The living body of the kindred. Numerous, quick, essential to daily life.
Fewer than half of all Mkin carry a living artifact: a small, grown thing that helps its keeper work. Eighteen kinds exist. Seventeen are shared among a few dozen carriers each. One exists exactly once.

Carried by exactly one Mkin in the entire kindred. Whoever holds it is followed by every rootway at once.

Pins a memory to its exact origin so distance and retelling cannot move it.

A fragment of mapped ground. Its carrier can never lose a path it has walked once.

Drawn from ground where a false signal died. It warns its keeper when the same lie returns.

Bends dim light around its carrier, opening the quiet gaps of the ledger.

Holds the first shape of one story. When memory drifts, the shard hums the oldest verified form.

A living seed that leans toward the nearest safe crossing of the Chainstream.

Formed where stale patterns were returned to the soil. It speeds the honest rot.

A splinter of the silent deep. Its carrier can cross regions where the Chainstream falls quiet.

A cool ember at rest. It keeps one dormant conviction alive through long waiting.

Carries the beginning of new growth, planted wherever fresh knowledge enters the network.

A drop of condensed record, grown inside the keeper's own weave over many cycles.

A fragment of the Mycelium's own current, set at the sternum where the weave is strongest.

Threads one clean signal through noise without fraying it.

Splits a single signal into its true colours so nothing hidden inside survives inspection.

Opens sealed rootways and closes them again behind its keeper.

A warm barb that marks ground already tested, so no keeper wastes a second crossing.
A cap form tells you the ground a keeper was shaped by. Its glow names the current it answers to. Its gills show how it sorts what it hears, its weave how it holds what it carries, and its eyes how it watches the dark.
Markings record what it has survived. Roots show how it grips the world. And the background behind it, near empty by law, holds only the faintest trace of the signal it was born beside.
Root Form also shapes the hands and feet. Some keepers have long fingers or tapered claws, while others end in braided toes, fine webs, deep anchors, or forked roots. This is intentional variation within the same humanoid Mkin form.

The law of the path
This is the oldest promise spoken by every Mkin. It binds all eight callings to the living network: seek what can strengthen the forest, guide it toward the roots, and help every honest bond survive. The Mnodes give the Mycelium its foundation. The Mkin give it movement. Together, they keep it alive.
